Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bleach my hair before dyeing it pink?

Probably! Our lighter pink, semi-permanent hair dyes will require a pale yellow bleached and toned base to show up in their truest form. Stronger, brighter shades like The Big Pink can show up on naturally light hair, but the color may not be as true. Do a strand test before bleaching your hair at home to see how your hair reacts to the bleaching process

What shade of pink hair will look good on me?

There’s a pink for everyone! But some pink dyes will work better with different bleach bases. Rosé, Odd Fuchsia, Smoky Rosé and Rose Gold require a pale yellow base to give the truest result.  Gobby Pink and the Big Pink will show up on darker bleaches, so they’re great picks if you have naturally dark hair, which sometimes won’t lift as light.

Why do I need to tone my hair after bleaching?

Before dyeing your hair pink, it’s important to use a toner that neutralises brassy yellows, which can impact how your colour shows up. Toner helps to even your bleach out and creates a clean base for applying any of our semi-permanent pink dyes. For cool-toned pinks, use White Toner for an icy base, and for warm-toned pinks, use Champagne Super Toner for a creamy base.

What is the difference between Gobby Pink, The Big Pink and Odd Fuchsia?

The Big Pink is a true hot pink. Gobby Pink is a bright, warm mid-pink – it sits between The Big Pink and our pastel pink Rosé. Odd Fuchsia is a strong, raspberry pink with a cool blue undertone.
