What makes them different from other box dyes?

Existing permanent colours on the market are mostly designed to give full grey coverage and match the natural colour of your hair whilst No Bleach London offers kits that can make your hair lighter, brighter or darker, giving you a total transformation without bleaching.

The collection features sub-categories tailored to diverse colour preferences

Go Lighter - paired with our Go Lighter Developing Lotion to lighten and colour your hair at the same time. The Go Lighter shades are Natural Blonde, Natural Brown, Natural Copper.

Go Brighter - also paired with our Go Lighter Developing Lotion, the Conditioning Colour in these kits is formulated with additional direct dye pigments for that extra vibrancy. Vivid Copper and Vivid Red belong to the Go Brighter shades.

Go Darker - paired with our Go Darker Developing Lotion that allows the product to gently deposit dark pigments into the hair, allowing even results and colour longevity. Go Darker shades are Rich Brown and Glossy Black.

The Conditioning Colour inside each box is formulated with Cocamide and Seasilk Proteins (it’s vegan!) that helps strengthen and nourish hair whilst colouring.

Which hair types can they be used on?

The No Bleach London Permanent range is suitable for all hair types. For use on healthy, undamaged hair. You should wait at least 14 days after bleaching, relaxing or perming before colouring.

No Bleach London colours are not suitable for hair that has ever been dyed with henna or permanent hair dye.

How are they different from the Bleach London bleach kits and toner kits?

Hair bleach is typically made up of a developer (We use 30 vol, 20 vol and 13 vol) and a bleach powder. Combining the two creates the magical mix that lightens your hair! Bleaching allows for maximum lightening, but achieving your desired result doesn't always require this level of lightening.

Our semi-permanent toner kits contain pigments that are activated when mixed with a developer (we use 7 vol and 7.5 vol) to deposit colour pigments into the hair. Toners can change the tone of your hair (warm, neutral or cool) but can’t lighten it.

Permanent hair dyes contain smaller colour pigments than semi-permanent toners, they are also mixed with a developer to deposit colour into the hair shaft.  No Bleach London permanent colours can lighten and deposit tones into your hair in one step, allowing you to change your hair colour without bleaching.

Can these colours be damaging to my hair?

The No Bleach London permanent colours shouldn’t be damaging to your hair however, if you have any concerns, a strand test is the best way to check that you are happy with the colour and condition of your hair.

Do permanent hair dye kits cover grey?

The No Bleach London kits effectively blend grey hair, providing a natural, multi-dimensional finish. Grey blending means the product doesn’t reintroduce 100% of pigments to grey strands. Full grey coverage products can sometimes make hair appear flat, especially if grey isn’t the predominant colour in your hair pre-colouring. No Bleach London colours gently infuse grey strands with just enough pigments to blend with the rest of your hair, providing subtle highlights that emulate natural hair colour. Ideal for those with less than 60% grey hair, grey blending prevents colour flattening over time by avoiding over-pigmenting.

Application Tips & Techniques

  • Apply the colour using small sections and always make sure you use plenty of product.

  • Shampoo after! Make sure your hair is dry, unshampooed and fully detangled before you start. It’s a good idea to shampoo twice to remove the colour once it has developed.

  • Don’t forget to use the included Keep It Sealed Conditioner to lay the cuticle, locking the colour in and to give your hair a shiny, silky soft finish.

  • You may want some non-metal hair clips and tail comb for sectioning, our Crocodile Clips and Pink Tail comb are great for this!

  • The instructions for a full head application and a root application are different so make sure you read and follow the instruction leaflet carefully.

  • To ensure you get the results you desire and get there safely, always carry out a skin sensitivity and a strand test before using one of our kits.

How to maintain and care for your hair after using permanent hair dye

  • Anyone who’s coloured their hair with the No Bleach London Permanent Kit can use the Bond Restoring Reincarnation range to restore and strengthen every time you wash. [Alternatively, use your preferred shampoo, conditioner and mask for coloured hair.]

  • Avoid excessive heat when styling to prolong the colour vibrancy and maintain your hair health.

  • Colour your roots when they reach around 2 cm in length following the instructions in the leaflet for root application.
