Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bleach my hair before dyeing it a pastel colour?

Yes! You need a pale yellow bleach base for pastel hair. We recommend doing a strand test before bleaching your hair. This will give the best indication of how your hair will react to the bleaching process and the end result.

Do I need to tone my hair before using semi-permanent pastel dye?

If you want to get pastel hair, it’s important to use a toner that neutralises brassy yellows from your fresh bleach, which can impact how your colour shows up. Toner helps to even your bleach out and creates a clean base for applying colour.

Will semi-permanent dyes damage my hair?

Not at all! All of our Super Cool Colours are conditioner based and peroxide free, so they help to nourish when you colour.

How can I make soft pastel colours last for longer?

Use a toner that compliments your pastel colour as a base layer before applying the Super Cool Colour. Keep your hair colour topped up with pigmented shampoos and conditioners, or mix a dollop of your Super Cool Colour into Reincarnation Mask and apply once a week to help the shade stay strong. Do a strand test first so you can check the ratio is right for the look you want.
