Happy new hair! As January comes around I'm often asked to share my colour predictions for the next twelve months. As capitalism continues to decary and Gen Z slowly gives way to Gen A, hair remains a canvas where we can project our dreams and fears. This year sees new spins on old classics as well as more experimental youth-driven shades. What does 2023 have in store for your hair colour?

Life is plastic, it’s fantastic!

Everyone’s going bubblegum pink Barbiecore, so much so Pantone have even officially made Vivid Magenta their colour of the year!

Ready for some hyperreal hot pink hysteria yourself? Super Cool Colours are a great way to try the trend, with our pinks ranging from pale Rosé and Odd Fuschia, which last around 3-10 washes, to The Big Pink which last around 10- 20.

Gobby Pink is another of our most popular pinks at the moment.  It's a winner in the winter as it’s long lasting but touches on different tones as it fades out. Starting as a mid-mauve, it moves on to a perfect powder pink before fading back to blonde.

In general pink is one of the easiest colours to use as it fades out. It doesn’t stain or damage your hair, so you can play with your shade wherever you’re at in the process. Just be careful what you wash for!

Bella Hadid recently went back to blonde after three years of brunette. Her new head turning sandy blonde colour will definitely be something requested in our salons. Clients at our Bleach London West Hollywood Salon love a baby blonde, with clients wanting a natural but striking look. This blonde also looks great with a bit of a root growing out so maintaining isn't such a pressing issue. There's something refreshing about coming into a new year with a new look, and as this blonde's on the warmer side it usually compliments most skin tones too.

Stylist tip: Keep the maintained by using Champagne Super Toner for a lighter blonde and Just Like Honey for a warmer one.

Gemini hair. Because two hues are better than one. Last year saw the rise of the ‘bleach bit’ and now there's a natural progression, with people wanting to play with pigment placement, juxtaposed with their normal hair colour.

From secret strips and  surprise streaks to ‘fun-dercuts’ - sharp, popping  gemini shades are a perfect way of experimenting without committing to a full head of bright colour. Finally, business at the front AND party at the front.

Want a winning streak? You’re in for a shock! First things first use our Total Bleach kit to blank out a block of your  hair so it’s ready for one of our conditioning Super Cool Colours. Start with a small streak and if you like it you can always go bigger later.

Next decide on what shade your bleached section’s going. Feel like  a shock? Try our neon green Slime Light, zesty Twisted Lemon or or electric Curious OrangeSuper Cool Colours.

For those with darker hair which might only bleach to a darker yellow base, opt for warm and bright colours like Awkward Peach, I Saw Red or The Big Pink. Remember to keep your look grounded in a natural base so your second  colour really pops
