Try using our Washing Out Liquid and following this method: wet your hair with warm water, lather in the shampoo and leave it to sit in the hair for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and then repeat. After rinsing, apply a deep conditioning mask, we recommend Bleach London Reincarnation Mask. Rinse with cool water. This may need to be repeated every other or every two days for around a week.
No. Pastel colours need to be applied to the lightest, cleanest base possible. We recommend using one of our bleaching kits like Bleach London Total Bleach, Plex Bleach or if your hair is naturally quite fair then No Bleach Bleach, to get your hair to a pale yellow blonde. Bleach London White Toner or Bleach London Silver Shampoo will help knockout the yellow tones to even-out the base before using a pastel colour. It is important to always to a strand test before bleaching to check the condition and colour of the hair.
If you don’t want to bleach your hair before using the colours you can try our deeper more vibrant colours like Bleach London I Saw Red, The Big Pink, Tangerine Dream or Aubergine Dream. These can show on the hair as a tinge or hue effect.
This could be due to different porosity levels in the hair or not enough product being used when applying the colour. It’s important to use a very generous amount of colour and gently apply in fluid stroking motions before smooshing into the hair and then combing through. Or you may need to layer more than one application of colour to get an even tone throughout.
Blue and green based colours can be very stubborn to remove due to blue pigment sticking in the hair but the easiest and safest way to remove faded blue or green colour is to neutralise with a red based colour. This is it’s opposite on the colour wheel. So use a pink Bleach London Super Cool Colour or Rosé Shampoo and Conditioner to gently neutralise the colour, help pull the green tones out and replace them with a pinky lilac colour. After a while, shampooing with a normal non-toning shampoo can resume and the hair should return to a very light blonde.
Bleach London Violet Skies is a blue-based pastel colour which can sometimes leave a residue that can take a while to wash out. The safest and easiest way to remove this is by neutralising the green using a pink based colour which will make your hair a pinky lilac and help pull the green tones out. Try using Bleach London Rosé Shampoo and Conditioner every other wash until the green tinge has completely faded.
This has happened because the colour was applied to a very white blonde with no warmth to help bring out the warmer tones in the colour. The very pinkest colours show up because they have overridden the warm tones. Pre-pigmenting the hair with Bleach London Awkward Peach shampoo and conditioner is a great way to add warmth before using the Super Cool Colour.
We’ve decided to take a break from our Black hair dye to focus on new colours, but if anything changes you’ll be the first to know.
